Jamie Foxx Doesn’t Remember Anything From His Mysterious Hospital Stint: “I Was Gone For 20 Days”
Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx are back — in action, that is.
Netflix dropped the teaser trailer for their long awaited action comedy Back In Action on Thursday, which introduces viewers to Diaz’s Emily and Foxx’s Matt, two former CIA operatives who gave up their work to start a family together. However, they “find themselves dragged back into the world of espionage when their cover is blown,” per the streamer’s synopsis.
As a montage of action-packed scenes featuring Diaz and Foxx play out, their onscreen children learn about their parents’ past profession.
“I knew you guys were lying about something, but I never thought you were cool enough to be spies,” their daughter (McKenna Roberts) says.
Emily replies, “I mean, that’s not why we’re cool,” which Matt echoes.
The film also stars Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, and Jamie Demetriou.
While Back In Action is Diaz’s return to movies, the film also made headlines amid Foxx’s mysterious hospitalization in April 2023. Foxx has since returned to the spotlight and has shed some light on what took place, but he is opening up further about his medical complications in a stand-up special which he taped for Netflix last month. The special will premiere on Dec. 10.

With regard to shooting the special, Foxx told Gayle King, “It was an excruciating time to be able to open those wounds every single day for three nights.”
Ahead of the trailer drop, Diaz and Foxx teased in a social media video shared on Wednesday that a “sneak peak” of a Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre song would be featured in the trailer.
“Oh my God, they haven’t done a song together in years!” Diaz exclaims in the video.
Foxx cheekily replies, “Time to get them back in action,” before calling up Snoop Dogg with a “favor” that the rapper is happy to oblige.
Back In Action hits Netflix on Jan. 17. Check out the teaser above.
